We have an exciting opportunity for multiple Communication and Engagement Business Partners to join our Destination, Communication and Customer Experience team.
Working in our high-performing Communication, Engagement and Media team and as a business partner with Council services, your role will be to inform, educate and engage the Tweed community and our workforce so they get the most out of Council programs and services.
We have opportunities available to flex your comms and engagement skills to support these business partners: corporate services (including internal comms, governance, finance, information technology and the Office of the General Manager); planning, business, and events; engineering/roads and infrastructure projects; inclusive and creative communities and parks and active spaces (including our Gallery, Museum, Aquatic Centres and more). You’ll be at the centre of Council’s communication, marketing, engagement, and event efforts—working alongside a supportive, values-driven team of Communication and Engagement Business Partners and with Business Partners who need your expertise to solve their communication and engagement needs.
From delivering standout marcomms campaigns and supporting community engagement projects, to promoting events that bring people together, you’ll help ensure Council’s programs and services are seen, celebrated, and understood. Your work will connect our community with the council initiatives that are part of their everyday.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll collaborate across Council, embrace digital tools, champion plain language, and drive strong branding. What's on offer:
- a base salary ranging from $84,316 per annum with competency-based increments up to $99,874 per annum, plus 12% super
- 70 hour, 9 day fortnight
- 2 permanent full-time positions, multiple max-term 12 month full-time positions with potential for extension or appointment subject to budget and performance.

We are seeking:
- Proven experience in communication, marketing, or engagement roles where you’ve juggled diverse projects and delivered results.
- A natural storyteller and visual communicator who can craft clear, plain-language content across print, digital, social, and video channels.
- Hands-on skills in developing and delivering communication and engagement plans that connect communities and celebrate achievements.
- Creative flair for producing innovative campaigns and promotional solutions that are on-brand and cut through the noise.
- Confidence with digital tools and web technologies to create, publish, and evaluate impactful content.
- A collaborative team player and customer focus with flexibility to support events, engagement activities, and occasional out-of-hours commitments.

This position is based in Murwillumbah and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
