About the role:
- Provide administrative and coordination support across the Governance Unit, which delivers services including governance, records management, compliance, risk, emergency management and Council meeting processes.
- Manage and process informal and formal access to information requests in accordance with the Government Information (Public Access) Act and Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act.
- Maintain key Governance records and registers, ensuring accurate, timely and legislatively compliant record keeping using Council’s records management system.
- Support the review and maintenance of Governance policies, procedures and internal reports to ensure accuracy and relevance.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to coordinate information requests and support efficient Governance operations in a fast‑paced, responsive environment.

We are seeking:
- Experience in processing access to information requests, with sound knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation.
- Ability to use initiative, research issues and apply sound judgement to support decision‑making and continuous improvement in an information management environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team, share knowledge and provide support during periods of increased workload.
- Proven capacity to manage workloads and competing priorities in a busy, deadline‑driven environment.
- Well‑developed verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly and liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge and experience in implementing and maintaining policies, protocols or procedures in records and/or information management.

This position is based in Murwillumbah and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
