We are seeking 2 Civil Engineering Designers:

  • 1 permanent full-time
  • 1 contract position* - 2 years with an option to extend for a 3rd year
    * we would consider an exception, self-motivated, Graduate to intermediate Engineer or students currently enrolled in the Associate Degree of Civil Engineering Course
    ** salary for candidates would be depend upon skills, knowledge and experience.

As our Civil Engineering Designer, you will manage multiple projects and will be responsible for designing and drafting at an advanced level from concept through to detailed design construction plans for all divisions of Council.

You will report directly to the Supervisor - Civil Engineering Design. 

About the role:

  • Provide specialised civil engineering design and drafting services from project concept through to detailed design
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for incorporation in construction and budgetary programs and contract documents
  • Develop and add to design practices and processes. 

We are seeking: 

  • Associate Degree in Civil Engineering (Design) or equivalent, and relevant design experience
  • Thorough knowledge of engineering design requirements relating to roadworks and drainage and/or water and sewer facilities
  • Experience in the design and drafting of community facilities or structural detailing would be highly regarded
  • Demonstrated skills in computer-aided engineering design and drafting
  • Knowledge of and experience in the use of Australian standards, design guidelines relevant to the design of roads, drainage, sewer and water infrastructure.

  • Salary ranging from $75,686.35 per annum with competency-based increments up to $89,651.41 per annum, plus 10.5% super
  • **Candidates wishing to be considered for the role as a Graduate to intermediate Engineer or student – salary will commence at $55,766 up to $77,049 per annum, +10.5% super assessed on skill, knowledge and experience

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple design projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to measure quantities and prepare construction estimates.
  • Knowledge of Council Policies and the requirements of Statutory Authorities as they relate to design matters.
  • Current Vehicle Licence - Car.
