Payroll Officer

We are looking for a Payroll Officer to join our growing payroll team. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, your main focus will be to will ensure our compliance through the interfacing of our payroll data systems as well as ensuring all annual salary reconciliations align with our time management systems.
Responsibilities:
  • Change management for any new legislation or other changes impacting payroll
  • Review and analyse multiple awards and enterprise agreements
  • Regular audit processes and reporting
  • Analyse weekly profit vs payroll cost percentages
  • Ensure compliance with Fairwork legislation.
  • Annual salary reconciliations against hours worked
  • Updating BI systems and documentation
  • Work with venue managers on resource and schedule roster planning
  • ongoing administration and integrity of P&C/Payroll applications
  • Reporting and journals that report all aspects of payroll to finance team 
About you:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accountancy, Business, or related field desired
  • Understanding of payroll and industrial instruments
  • Ability to interpret Agreements and Awards to provide certainty in compliance approach, especially within hospitality industry
  • Strong knowledge of Humanforce or similar rostering/costing system
  • Strong knowledge of Micropay
  • Experience in payroll processing, understanding payroll principles and best practice.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
  • Strong Excel skills with VLookup and Pivot Tables being essential. Macros highly regarded.
  • Experience with large Workforce Management Systems.
