Trippas White Group is seeking an energetic & dynamic, hands-on Chef for one of Australia’s most prestigious corporate locations, specialising in café & function service excellence.

What will your day look like;
As Head Chef, you will be responsible for the execution of food for both the internal café and events across these prestigious corporate offices. With a focus on high quality catering this role will be hands on to deliver memorable food experiences.

You will be part of a high-quality hospitality team working together across both front and back of house areas to deliver a coordinated service for staff.

 

What will you bring?

 To be successful in the role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • A qualified chef with at least 5 years’ experience in high quality function and café venues.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and service peers.
  • Strong understanding of allergen and dietary management.
  • Strong experience in upmarket restaurants and cafes.
  • Drive innovation, follow and adopt culinary trends
  • Demonstrated leadership and experience in being part of professional kitchen team
  • Exceptional team leading qualities and experience
  • Ability to operate as a Food Safety Supervisor.
  • Able to work with computer-based ordering systems.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Day to day production of all food produced and served.
  • Day to day management of allergens and dietaries.
  • Creation of Café menus on a weekly basis.
  • Production of a range of contemporary cuisines and service styles including buffets, formal dinners and cocktail parties for functions.
  • Financial and operational management of the kitchens, including all compliance requirements
  • Ensuring only the very highest standards of food presentation & creativity.
  • Training staff as required.
  • Assisting with the management of staffing requirements and rosters
  • Following company procedures and policy when handling employee grievances or undertaking disciplinary actions
  • Stock Management – ordering & replenishing stock
  • Brief function staff prior to events on food aspect of service.
  • Work according to safe work procedures, effectively maintained.
  • Maintain compliance for both customer and Trippas White Group.

  • Proven and successful background in kitchen and team management
  • A focus on providing excellent contemporary food!
  • Strong understanding of all aspects of menu planning disciplines
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced, dynamic work environment
  • Highly developed leadership skills with strong human resource skills
  • Strong knowledge of food handling and hygiene principles
  • Computer literate (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and other ordering systems)
