Chef – Full-Time – The Women’s College

  • Private Residential College within University of Sydney
  • Thursday – Monday FT opportunity
  • $70 000 + super

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic chef, who is passionate about cooking and willing to join the award winning kitchen team in a prestigious private residential college located in Newtown.

Work directly with the Head Chef and a diverse catering team to deliver top quality, tasty meals throughout the academic calendar, including daily residential catering and external functions.

This is a Full-Time role Thursday through Monday afternoon/evenings, based at The Women’s College. Please note due to the nature of this role, a rotation or additional hours may be required from time to time.

You will be responsible for:

  • Preparing and cooking a wide range of dishes to a consistently high standard
  • Working inclusively within a team of up to 15 staff, including chefs of all levels
  • Delivering high quality dishes, both formally and informally to resident and guests
  • Achieving all safety, hygiene and food quality targets set by the business.
  • Assisting the Head Chef in business development and at times, administrative duties

  • Constructive behaviours that are a positive example to others
  • Ability to multitask and work as part of a wider team
  • Strong autonomy and the ability to innovate and self-motivate
  • The highest standards of food and occupational safety and hygiene
  • Sound knowledge of dietary requirements
  • Nationally Recognised Food Safety Supervisor Certificate desired
