The Role
Predominately Monday to Friday working days with school holidays off.
Trippas White Group is seeking an energetic & dynamic, hands on Chef Manager to lead our teams at one of Melbourne’s Inner Eastern prestigious schools, along with experience in events of all styles and guest numbers.
We are looking for a chef manager with flair and creativity, a passion for fantastic food and a willingness to work in a positive team environment with a supportive client.
Reporting directly to the offsite Operations Manager, you will be responsible for day-to-day running and supervision of the kitchen including functions and retail. You will be multi-skilled with the ability to lead your team.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Establishing and sustaining productive relationships with key client contacts
- Day to day production of all kitchen requirements both retail & events.
- High volume production of contemporary food
- Financial and Operational Management of the kitchen operation
- Ensuring only the very highest standards of food presentation & creativity
- Managing staffing requirements and rosters
- Ordering and replenishing stock
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
- Proven and successful background in Kitchen Management
- A focus on providing excellent contemporary food!
- Strong understanding of all aspects of menu planning disciplines
- Ability to multi task and work in a fast paced, dynamic work environment
- Highly developed leadership skills
- Strong Human Resource skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Impeccable grooming standards
- Strong knowledge of food handling and hygiene principles
- Computer literate
- Please note that a Working With Children check and drivers licence is a mandatory requirement of this position.
