We are currently seeking a talented Full Time Head Chef to join our Education team at a College in Novar Gardens, commencing Jan 27th, 2026. With on-site support from the State Operations Manager, we also encourage Senior Sous Chefs to apply who are looking for opportunities to take that next step up.
You will lead the team who cater for 170 residential students, canteens, café and function catering.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Deliver Boarding House menus across a 7-day, all-day service, and provide innovative and flexible menu options for catering outlets
- Provide hands on leadership with the day-to-day management of kitchen and FOH team members
- Achieve and maintain excellence in food service standards and methods for yourself and the team
- Ensure that company WHS and Food Safety policies and procedures are always maintained
- Work closely with the South Australian Operations Manager to achieve financial outcomes as delivered to the client in the Profit and Loss Statement
- Strong stakeholder Engagement is critical – you must be confident in your ability to communicate with the client.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team and develop staff to exceed
- Proven experience within high volume kitchen production
- Leader in WHS and Food Hygiene requirements
- Great personal grooming, presentation and a confident and pleasant manner
- Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills – our students and the client want to be engaged
- Flexibility in your work week – whilst your work week will be predominantly Monday to Friday, this business runs across 7 days, and your presence at keys functions is expected.
