About the position
2026 Traineeship Intake - Environmental Maintenance Crew (EMC) Traineeship
Gladstone Ports Corporation is actively seeking applications from motivated candidates with an aptitude for manual work within our Operations Department. Combining paid work and training, you will learn the practical skills that you need to gain a nationally recognised qualification. GPC is committed to assisting you in developing the right skills and experiences in a positive and safe workplace environment, all under the mentorship of our trades and leaders within the business.
Key Responsibilities
- A genuine interest and understanding of basic equipment pertaining to Machinery operations;
- Labouring and basic hand tools knowledge;
- Capability to work flexible hours;
- Complete training targets;
- Ability to work across different work groups.
About you
Each year GPC employs a number of new apprentices and trainees who have a focus and commitment to safety, possess good communication skills both written and verbal, and have the motivation to learn and develop new skills while working constructively within a team.
Candidates must meet the specific eligibility criteria
- Minimum of Year 10 or TAFE equivalent with C grade in English, Math and relevant technical subjects;
- Meet age restrictions for High Risk Work Licences (minimum of 18 years old with a 'C' Class Manual Drivers Licence);
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC).
