We are Australian Spatial Analytics, an award-winning non-profit social enterprise creating data solutions for an inclusive workforce. We exist to employ neurodiverse individuals previously locked out of employment to provide B2B professional data & digital engineering services to Federal and State Government Departments and Medium & Large enterprises.

Our team is comprised of over 100 people across three offices: our head office in Brisbane, 2nd office in Melbourne and our recently opened 3rd office in Cairns. This makes us one of Australia's largest work-integrated social enterprises (WISE), and we're only 3 years old! 

The Opportunity: 

This role is responsible for achieving ASA's vision and mission through effective management of assigned Digital Engineering projects across our civil, infrastructure & asset management stream including effective management of assigned Surveying, LiDAR and Remote Sensing Projects.

They will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of analysts, managing delivery of projects according to their plans and completing projects as efficiently and promptly as possible, as well as providing consistent service delivery so customer projects are delivered on-time, on-cost, and to quality and requirements specifications.

They will oversee the planning, executing, and tracking of their Program, and develop and maintain their Program environment to support each individual Project within it. 

This role reports to the Chief Delivery Officer.  

Project team members will also have support from our People Success Officer, also based in Melbourne. 

  

Key Accountabilities 

  • Mentoring, leading and developing a team of analysts.
  • Managing the delivery of design and drafting work related to civil and structural works for various projects across: Transport Building projects, rail projects, tunnel projects etc.
  • Managing the delivery of Survey, LiDAR and Remote Sensing projects with a focus on Digital Twins, Scan to BIM, Bathymetric Surveys, Mobile Laser Scanning and Aerial LiDAR.
  • Working with the CDO and Senior Leadership team, designing, coordinating, and improving the external product and industry vertical programs of ASA to deliver customer projects that align to ASA’s strategic vision 
  • Ensure Program staff have clear work plans, Key Performance Indicators, and are provided with appropriate induction, training, and development to effectively achieve Program service delivery and personal growth goals 
  • Ensure consistent service delivery, manage inter-project conflicts (e.g. for resources) so your customer projects are delivered on-time, on-cost- budget, and to quality and requirements specifications, while managing project scope (creep) and meeting ASA gross margin targets 
  • Support recruitment and onboarding, professional, and technical development for key roles in your Program 
  • Understand software systems used to produce and manage data and determine how to best organise existing systems with current and upcoming work, referring as required to upskill or insource capability as needed. 
  • Manage and adjust for any changes in project scope, schedule and / or budget
  • Identify and mitigate potential Project risks 
  • Through dealings with external stakeholders be an advocate for ASA promoting integration of neurodiversity in all sectors of employment 

Required Skills & Experience 

  • Proven experience (2 - 3 years) in engineering project management, Surveying, Spatial Science or Engineering within the transport, infrastructure or the utilities industry. 
  • Degree qualified in Engineering in a relevant field such as (but not limited to), Surveying, Geoinformation Systems or Geospatial Engineering.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills; communicator with effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills. A good team player and an effective leader who can motivate their project team. 
  • Effective project management, performance management, and change management professional with technical skills 
  • Demonstrated experience in driving productivity while effectively leading, motivating, coaching, and developing diverse team members in how to best utilise individual strengths to meet performance goals 
  • Analytical skills to correctly identify risks and solve any problems which may arise throughout the project. A keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into data 
  • Literacy in and ability to understand concepts across multiple professional and technical disciplines. May bring deep understanding of at least one field but have the capacity to converse in the language of a broader range of disciplines 
  • Compliment of qualifications, skills, and experience to deliver people-based outcomes in a diverse culture that is inclusive.
  • Ability to travel interstate and to easily move between offices and stakeholder meetings
