General Hand - Parks & Open Spaces (including community care)- Apprentice

Uralla Shire Council is offering a unique apprenticeship opportunity for a motivated individual to join our Parks & Open Spaces team, with a special focus on supporting aged care clients in our community. 

The Opportunity

As a General Hand Apprentice, you’ll contribute to the upkeep of Uralla’s parks, gardens, reserves, and recreational facilities, while also assisting with outdoor maintenance tasks for aged care clients in their homes. This dual-focus role offers hands-on experience and formal training, including:

  • Certificate III in Parks and Gardens
  • Exposure to Aged Care Quality Standards and NDIS Practice Standards

You’ll be part of a supportive team committed to delivering high-quality services and promoting independence and wellbeing in the community.

Candidate profile

We are looking for a compassionate and reliable individual with a genuine interest in outdoor work and community care, who is eager to learn, committed to completing a three-year apprenticeship, and ready to contribute positively to our team and the wellbeing of our residents.

Commencing salary is as per Band 1/Level 1 of the Local Government (State) Award 2023 - T1-T10 depending on age of the successful candidate.
