About the Role

The primary purpose of this position is to assist with the operation and maintenance of Council's water and wastewater treatment systems, networks, and equipment to ensure compliance with health, environmental, and customer service standards.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Manual labour and operation of mobile and fixed plant & equipment
  • Working in confined spaces, at heights, and over water
  • Exposure to electrical hazards and sewage (including clearing wastewater chokes and working at treatment plants)
  • Participation in call-out rotations, weekend, and public holiday work
  • Flexibility to work from any location within the Uralla Shire Council area

    • Lead operations, mentor team members, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
    • Annual salary range - $70,180 to $82,482 + Super depending on skills and experience. 

or

  • Water & Wastewater Operator Click here for Position Description
    • Operate and maintain water and wastewater treatment systems, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
    • Annual salary range - $61,880 to $72,711 + Super depending on skills and experience.

 Plus:

  • Sign-On Bonus: $5,000
  • Retention Bonus: $5,000 (paid annually as lump sum - subject to performance)
  • Market Loading: $5,000 (paid hourly, subject to satisfactory performance)
