General Hand / Truck Operator (HR Licence)

About the Role

Uralla Shire Council is seeking a motivated and capable General Hand / Truck Operator to join our Infrastructure & Development team. This role is suited to someone who enjoys practical, hands‑on work and takes pride in contributing to the delivery and maintenance of essential community infrastructure.

This position involves a mix of labouring duties and truck operation, supporting civil construction and maintenance works across the region. You will work as part of a collaborative team, operating plant and equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to workplace health and safety, environmental, and quality standards.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be an enthusiastic and reliable operator with a positive, can‑do attitude and a strong work ethic. You enjoy working outdoors and are comfortable undertaking physically demanding work in a team environment.

You will bring:

  • A current HR driver licence
  • Previous experience in civil construction, road maintenance, or a similar environment
  • The ability to safely operate a range of plant, tools, and equipment
  • A strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
  • Effective communication skills and a customer‑focused approach
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Relevant tickets such as traffic control, construction induction (White Card), or plant operation certificates will be highly regarded.

Remuneration and Benefits

This position is classified as Grade 2 under the Local Government (State) Award, with a salary of $1,075.30 gross per week
