ABOUT THE ROLE
Join our team as a Facilities Lead and play a pivotal role in managing and enhancing USU’s buildings, assets, and infrastructure. In this strategic and hands-on position, you’ll ensure a safe, compliant, and efficient environment for staff, students, and visitors across multiple venues. You’ll lead maintenance programs, oversee contractor relationships, manage budgets, and drive project delivery, all while promoting sustainability and service excellence. As a key collaborator across departments, you'll also lead a small team and ensure our spaces support business continuity, safety, and optimal space utilisation.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Lead preventative and reactive maintenance across essential building services, including HVAC, fire systems, lifts, and security.
- Oversee facilities projects, including refurbishments, fit-outs, and infrastructure upgrades with minimal disruption to operations.
- Coordinate procurement and contract management, ensuring transparency, value for money, and contractor compliance.
- Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, maintaining safety documentation, conducting inspections, and promoting a safety-first culture.
- Foster strong stakeholder relationships, liaising with campus partners, tenants, and internal teams to resolve issues and deliver service excellence.
- Lead and mentor the Facilities team, allocating tasks, building capability, and driving a collaborative, customer-focused culture.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Project management experience, ideally in a facilities management-related field
- Outstanding stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Current Provisional or above NSW Driver’s License
- 4+ years of experience in the supervision of facilities and maintenance
- Tertiary qualifications in Facility Management, Engineering or Business Administration
HOURS OF WORK
This is a Permanent Full-Time position, 35 hours per week
