Directorate Overview

This role is in the Vinnies Services directorate and is part of the Community Inclusion team that is responsible for statewide management of excellent community inclusion services, including disability services.

The Role

A new Specialist Support Coordinator has been created due to high demand in Support Coordination services in Inner West Sydney. This role aligns with the strategic plan to support people with disability to exercise choice and control, coordinating their support needs with access to their local community as they are facing further isolation due to pandemic restrictions.

The role will provide responsive, individualized services and support for each person and family consistent with the relevant legislation, their NDIS plan, Vinnies support coordination policy and quality framework, and funding guidelines.

To be successful in this role, you will need

  • A tertiary qualification in one of the following disciplines: Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Speech Pathology
  • Minimum twelve months’ experience providing Support Coordination or Case Management with complex clients
  • Knowledge of National Disability Insurance Scheme and relevant legislation including the NDIS Act 2013 and Disability Act 2006
  • Expert communication (both written and oral) skills and able to manage complex relationships
  • Flexible and able to work effectively within a changing environment
  • High computer literacy including proficiency in the Microsoft Suite
  • Willingness to complete safety screening including a National Police check, International Police check (if required), a current NSW Working with Children Check (Employee), and right to work in Australia.
  • Current NSW Drivers License

The following will also highly regarded:

  • Experience working with people living with a disability/mental health
  • Previous Specialist Support Coordination experience
  • Knowledge of the NDIS Operational Guidelines
