Your new role:

Join the Return and Earn recycling facility in Tamworth and make an impact to help reduce litter, protect our environment, and build sustainable futures for residents of Tamworth! The Warehouse Assistant will assist in collecting, sorting, and storage of recyclable drink containers; operate point of sale system (POS). Your great customer services skills, eagerness to learn will drive this great initiative. We will provide you with training to operate specialised equipment.  A current Forklift Licence is required (Counter Balance) or willingness to obtain one.  For more information  PD Warehouse Assistant.

Your responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Operate equipment used for bulk sorting of recyclable drink containers
  • Use forklift to empty bins of sorted recyclable containers
  • Operate point of sale system for accurate sales and refund transactions
  • Assist in other activities i.e. housekeeping, maintenance of warehouse equipment, reporting faulty equipment needing repair, etc.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to provide outstanding customer service
  • Experience in using forklifts and a current valid Forklift Licence
  • Experience working within a warehouse and/or production environment
  • Capacity to perform manual/physical tasks
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, and independently
  • Thorough understanding of work, health and safety requirements within a warehouse environment
