Your new role:
Vinnies are seeking a hardworking Kitchen Hand to join our supportive team at the Matthew Talbot Hostel in Woolloomooloo. You will be preparing food, washing up, light cooking, delivery food & maintaining the highest standards of food service provided to clients. You will be joining a highly supportive team with great learning & development programs and clear pathways to internal progression.
Your responsibilities:
- Assist in preparation of all meals (i.e.) breakfast, lunch and dinner; plus, any in-house function meals for the Society.
- Set tables in the dining room for each meal period (cutlery, bread, Crockery etc.).
- Washy crockery, prepare food, light cooking and delivery of food services for clients of the Matthew Talbot Hostel
- Prepare morning and afternoon tea for residents in the dining room.
- Provide a courteous and friendly service to all residents, guests and staff.
- Assist in the sorting of donated food & utilise any donated items as soon as possible
You will need:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding role while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
- Food Handling certificates & demonstrated knowledge of relevant food handling & safety regulations including HACCP.
- Experience working as Kitchen hand/ Sandwich hand in food-related industry.
- Experience in a customer service/hospitality environment and willingness to adhere to established quality standards.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a professional team, as well as the ability to adapt to a changing environment
