Your new role:
Exciting leadership role overseeing the Bowral Youth Refuge which provides emergency crisis accommodation and support to young people experiencing homelessness.
Your responsibilities:
- Coordinate all aspects of the onsite accommodation services: room allocation, resident orientation, creating a safe and welcoming environment.
- Delegate tasks to direct reports as required, facilitate handover meetings and coordinate the distribution of weekly workload.
- Provide high quality intake, triaging and initial care planning to young people entering the service.
- Provide supervision, guidance and leadership to a team of youth Support Workers
- Foster a service culture characterised by partnership and collaboration both within the team, across the Service and with other stakeholders and clients
- Manage various internal and external stakeholder relationships.
- Provide written reports as requested by the Area Manager & be involved in continuous quality improvement activities
- Financial Management that includes overseeing your services monthly profit and loss review and acting in accordance with the financial delegation policy
You will need:
- Demonstrated experience working with young people who are at risk or experiencing homelessness.
- Strong ability to actively and assertively engage young people with complex needs.
- Strong knowledge of Child Protection legislation and reporting requirements.
- The ability to respond to young people presenting with mental health/ alcohol and other drug issues.
- Experience in supervisory roles and understanding of administrative, accountability & data management processes.
- Demonstrated strong communication skills (written and oral), including experience in dealing with vulnerable people with complex or challenging behaviors.
- Experience in designing, implementing and evaluating community engagement/support programs targeted at youth.
- Strong administration skills – Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint (Intermediate minimum).
- NSW driver licence (some travel may be required to meet client needs)
