Your new role:
The Vinnies Support Centre Coordinator will oversee all activities at the Support Centre in Redfern 2016 including provision of client services, volunteer management and engagement with the broader community. You will work closely with the Team Leader to ensure the effective and timely delivery of all services. Your good communication, engagement and collaboration skills are critical to this role.
Your responsibilities:
- Recruit, train and support volunteers within the Support Centre, including university intern placements as needed
- Work directly with clients experiencing complex needs by providing information and access to appropriate services within the community and advocating on their behalf as needed
- Ensure service policies and procedures are complied with at all times to achieve best client service experience and engagement across the region
- Manage voucher, store card and other forms of financial assistance in accordance with strict internal controls and reporting requirements
- Ensure sufficient numbers of volunteers are available to conduct client services at the Vinnies Support Centre during business hours
- Work closely with the Team Leader to achieve effective service delivery and ensuring smooth operation at the Support Centre; provide accurate activity reports as required.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Relevant tertiary qualification/s in social sciences, education, social work, psychology, welfare, health studies or related area
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in assessment within disadvantaged communities and individuals
- Experience working with disadvantaged communities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to effectively lead, train and develop a team
- Computer literacy in MS Office, Teams, emails and database systems
- Effective time management and organisational skills
- Ability to work in multiple locations as required
- NSW Driver Licence
