  • Base Salary = $98,688 (pro rata) + Superannuation with Salary Packaging up to $15.9k

About the Opportunity

As our Paediatric Psychologist, you will provide developmental assessments and counselling services and support to children, young people and their families when emotional, social, behavioural, learning, vocational, parenting, and family issues relating to living with a vision impairment and/or loss of vision arises.

In this role you also will:

  • Provide individual counselling services or targeted group programs
  • Use appropriate functional and standardised tools to assess developmental learning and behavioural difficulties
  • Promote and represent Vision Australia regarding Counselling, developmental and educational issues in relevant forums
  • Work within a cross-functional team of allied health professionals
  • Explore and create developmental and learning assessments tailored for children who are blind and/or have low vision

About You

You should be a Registered Psychologist through AHPRA, and have experience in providing developmental assessments and counselling services to children, young people and their families. You will also have:

  • Passion for working with children and young people
  • Experience in educational and developmental psychology
  • Ability to use development and learning assessments
  • Expertise to develop future learning and development assessments for children and young people who are blind or have low vision 
  • Be a team player who is passionate in supporting people to live life on their terms and build on their independence
