ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE:


In conjunction with the Vice President, Operations - Ontario, and General Managers, develops and implements marketing and community relations programs to achieve occupancy targets for the Ontario communities in accordance with the vision, values, and standards of Verve Senior Living. Coordinates new programs, brand initiatives and contributes to the development of national training programs by sharing best practices.


BACKGROUND/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preference given to individuals who have completed post-secondary education in business administration, with a major in sales, marketing, communication or public relations, or a background in an industry related to the position.
  • Written and verbal fluency in English is required. Must have proficient computer skills (i.e., Word and Excel). Has demonstrated excellent leadership skills (i.e., Diversicare/ Verve Senior Living Competencies) and the ability to work well independently.
  • Must be available for a flexible work schedule, which may include weekends and/or evenings.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to travel, with overnight travel required.
  • Preference given to individuals with 5 years of experience working with seniors in a similar setting.
  • A resident-oriented individual, whose visions and values align with those of Diversicare/Verve Senior Living.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participates in the Verve Quality Improvement (VQI) program.
  • Develops and assures ongoing implementation in conjunction with the Community Relations Managers, on an annual and quarterly marketing plan, and assists in updating and reviewing regularly (minimum quarterly). Works with the community to overcome any challenges in relation to executing the marketing plan.
  • Provides orientation to General Managers and Community Relations Managers at both new and existing operations.
  • Visits each community at least bi-annually or as requested by the Vice President, Operations - Ontario to ensure standards are upheld that show leadership and innovation in the industry.
  • Participates and conducts regional sales and marketing meetings quarterly and leads biweekly focus calls for those communities recognized as “Focus Communities.”
  • Promotes ‘best sales practices’ developed for and used by leading senior living for each community, this includes social media.
  • Effective communication with Vice President, Operations - Ontario, Regional Operations Team, General Managers and Community Relations Managers; ensuring consistency and high standards of processes and implementation.
  • Provides leadership and acts as a resource to Vice President, Operations - Ontario, Regional Operations Team, General Managers, and Community Relations Managers regarding all aspects of Sales and Marketing.
  • Under the direction of the Vice President, Operations - Ontario, is responsible for a training schedule that includes initial and ongoing sales training to all General Managers and Community Relations Managers. The training should include the sales system, brand messaging, print and social media, sales targets and sales and marketing metrics. The anticipated outcome from the training would be knowledgeable teams at each community who are equipped to accept accountability for results and who are trained to proactively adjust when targets are not achieved.
  • Works with the General Managers and Community Relations Managers to ensure monthly occupancy targets are met by using the Verve Senior Living sales process.
  • Ensures that each community maintains and updates the sales and marketing database .
  • Oversees the completion of the competitive analysis at each community biannually, prior to budgeting.
  • Assists the communities with implementation of new initiatives that are developed.
  • Assists in recruiting, interviewing, and selecting new Community Relations Managers where needed. Serves as a leader and helps develop Community Relations Managers to ensure an adequate level of service and job standard are achieved. Provides feedback to General Managers in relation to annual performance appraisals and helps to work through any performance issues if appropriate.
  • Provides input into the preparation of capital and operational budgets. Assists Community Relations Managers with their department finance, including inventory (collateral, promo items, move-in gifts, etc.).
  • Temporarily fills in for vacancies in the Community Relations Managers role at the property level, during the recruitment process, vacations, or other leaves of absence, if appropriate.
  • Complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, and Workplace Hazardous Material Information Systems. This includes recognizing health and safety hazards, reporting incidents, fulfilling responsibilities under the applicable legislation, as well as participating in in-services and fire drills.
  • Complies with all relevant corporate policies and procedures. Makes recommendations regarding development/modification to policies and procedures.
  • Completes all required mandatory training/education.
  • Performs other related tasks as delegated by the Vice President, Operations - Ontario
