About the Opportunity
William Clarke College is seeking a friendly and experienced Laboratory Technician to join our Science team. Reporting to the Laboratory Manager and working closely within a small team of laboratory specific staff, you will be responsible for the safe preparation of materials and equipment for activities across the Science Faculty to support student practicals, teacher demonstrations and assessment tasks. Your care for others and attention to detail will ensure all science faculty spaces are safely maintained and supplied. Your collaborative and friendly approach will be valued as you work co-operatively to complete team tasks.
This is a permanent full-time position, working during school term times only.
About You
- A background in a scientific discipline
- Previous experience working in a scientific laboratory setting
- Certificate III in Laboratory skills or equivalent
- Knowledge of WHS requirements in schools and laboratories
- Collaborative and co-operative approach to working within a team
- Strong ICT skills, experience with 'RiskAssess' software is an advantage
- Flexible and proactive, with ability to adapt to changing daily needs.
- Ability to undertake the duties of the position in accordance with the College’s Purpose, Values and Code of Conduct
- Actively support the College’s Christian ethos
- The successful candidate will be required to hold a valid Working with Children Check in accordance with Child Protection legislation
- Regular practicing member of a Christian church
