About the Opportunity
William Clarke College is seeking a dynamic and experienced Christian Head of Secondary who will have overall responsibility for developing and sustaining a high quality learning environment for students from Years 7-12. This important leadership position will oversee the academic, pastoral and spiritual growth of students and will seek to ensure the Christian values and ethos of the College are upheld. The Head of Secondary is a member of the College Executive and will work in collaboration with the Deputy and Head of Primary to ensure effective transition points between the sub-schools and a seamless experience for both students and parents. In addition to this, as a member of the Executive team, you will contribute to the planning and development of the strategic direction of the College. This role reports to the Head of College.
This is a Permanent, Full-Time position and will commence in Term 1, 2025.
About You
- University qualifications in Teaching. A Masters in Educational Leadership will be highly regarded
- Minimum of 8 years classroom experience as an exemplary practitioner
- Experience teaching at Stage 6 level
- Pastoral and/or Curriculum leadership experience across Year 7-12
- Christ-centred educator who is a regular practicing member of a Christian church.
- A proven record as a teacher and experience as a leader who understands and supports a focus on student learning using appropriate teaching and learning strategies and technologies
- A strategic thinker who can demonstrate strong curriculum leadership, who is approachable, a good listener and an effective communicator
- A relational leader who is able to empathise and collaborate with all stakeholders
- A leader of integrity who maintains high standards, while demonstrating high levels of support and accountability
- Skilful in leading a diverse staff team and in addressing the needs of multiple stakeholders across the College
- The successful candidate will be required to hold or be willing to obtain a valid Working with Children Check in accordance with Child Protection legislation
