About the Opportunity
William Clarke College challenges students to make a Christian difference in the world, and supports this through active engagement in spiritual, academic and character development activities. Our Christian Studies teachers develop student's Biblical understanding, encourage searching questions that explore the 'big ideas' in life, and equip students to live a Christ-centred life now and into the future.
Reporting to the Head of Faculty (Christian Studies), you will have opportunities to engage in core classes, elective "explore" courses and extra-curricular activities. Our Christian Studies faculty team includes specialists dedicated to teaching Christian Studies working together with passionate teachers drawn from other faculties across the College.
This is ideally a Permanent full-time position, commencing in Term 1 2026, however the College is willing to discuss potential for part-time positions with excellent candidates.
About You
- Understanding of and ability to teach the core doctrines of Christianity
- Qualifications and experience in Secondary Teaching are essential, with theological or ministry qualifications an advantage.
- Ability to demonstrate the impact of a personal faith in Jesus Christ in daily life
- Personal commitment to continuing Bible study and ongoing spiritual maturity
- Demonstrated ability to teach the Bible and apply it to real life in a clear and age-appropriate manner.
- Collaborative and co-operative team member
- Actively support the College’s Christian ethos
- Regular practicing member of a Christian church
- Willing to obtain and maintain a valid Working with Children Check in accordance with Child Protection legislation
