Position Summary:  

The Senior Financial Accountant reports to the Financial Controller and leads a team of three direct reports. The position takes the primary role in oversight of Treasury, IFRS 16, management of the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functionsIt is also responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual reporting, yearly audit management, capital expenditure plans and oversite of the day-to-day business transactions. 

Role responsibilities include: 

  • Accurate and timely completion of the monthly, quarterly and annual management reporting requirements of the organisation, including but not limited to:  
  • Transaction processing 
  • Account reconciliations 
  • Review and follow-up of Month end processing and analysis 
  • Internal Reporting  
  • Budget Analysis 
  • Overseeing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions for the Australian business, including overall responsibility for IFRS 16 
  • Overseeing the Treasury function, including managing cash flow and ensuring bank reconciliations complete 
  • Overseeing projects and the analysis of company operations, as required to assist management in the review of operating expenses and efficiency 
  • Participating in the preparation of capital expenditure plans and annual budgets for the business.  
  • Running the budgeting and forecasting process, predominantly for balance sheet and cash forecasting 
  • Be the key lead for the annual audit process and manager of internal stakeholders.   

Key criteria include: 

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance. 
  • CA/CPA qualified. 
  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar role. 
  • Attention to detail, strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask 
  • Proficient Microsoft Office (Excel) skills. 
  • Strong numerical, excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Experience in managing a Finance team function in the Retail industry. 
  • Demonstrated experience in problem-solving with business partners.
