About the Position

As a Senior Finance Analyst, you will play a crucial role in providing accurate and data-based information on our company's profitability, solvency, stability, and liquidity. You'll have the opportunity to consolidate and analyse financial data, contribute significantly to financial planning cycles (Budget | Forecast | 3 Year Plan), and make recommendations to enhance financial performance.

 

This is a 12 month contract role, office is based in Woolloomooloo. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Consolidate and analyse financial data, aligning with company goals and financial standing.
  • Own the financial planning cycles, managing stakeholder inputs, and developing modelling tools.
  • Provide creative alternatives to reduce costs and improve financial performance.
  • Assemble sophisticated reports on financial status and risks.
  • Develop financial models, conduct benchmarking, and analyse processes.
  • Conduct business studies on past, future, and comparative performance, developing forecast models.
  • Identify trends, provide advice, and recommend actions based on sound analysis.
  • Track financial status by analysing actual results in comparison with forecasts.
  • Deep dive assessment on performance through diagnostics on performance vs plan & prior years
  • Analysis of sales statistics whilst maintaining an independent view of key metrics such as Sales growth, GP, Mix, Rate
  • Reconcile transactions, ensuring accurate and up-to-date data.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and novelties in the field.

About You

  • CA/CPA/CFA or MBA qualified
  • Demonstrated experience in Management Accounting, showcasing a strong understanding of financial principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in utilising spreadsheets, databases, MS Office, and financial software applications.
  • Exceptional presentation, reporting, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability in financial forecasting, diagnosis, corporate finance, and information analysis.
  • In-depth understanding of current financial subjects, tax laws, money markets, and the overall business environment.
  • Keen awareness and knowledge of industry trends and best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a track record of making data-driven decisions.
  • Experience in a retail, sales or FMCG desirable.
