About the Position

As a Cook at WHSmith, you'll need to be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable multitasking to ensure that our customers receive the highest level of service.
You will also be responsible for a variety of tasks, including: 

  • Pre-service kitchen preparation
  • Working as part of a team to prepare all ingredients and menu items.
  • Maintaining WHS and HACCAP standards
  • Collaborating with the multi-site head chef to improve current menu offering. 
  • Responsible for ensuring smooth running of the kitchen. 
  • Assume responsibility of all kitchen duties, ordering and compliance

*This is a full-time salaried position, located at our Campbelltown Hospital site. You will be required to work Monday – Friday from 6am to 2:30pm. 

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following:

  • At least 2 years' back of house experience (producing al a carte breakfast, sandwiches, salads & to go items).
  • Food preparation and presentation experience across different cuisines. 
  • Food Safety Supervisor certification
  • Experience managing stock control and costs.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both autonomously & as part of a team.
  • An interest in food and beverage, and an eye for detail!
