About the Role

As a Café Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our café, and ensuring that our customers receive the highest level of service. Responsibilities include: 

  • Training team members in store processes and procedures.
  • Maintaining a clean workspace in accordance with Food by WHSmith hygiene Standards. 
  • Reporting and communicating necessary information and feedback to the Store Manager regarding any and all aspects of store operations.
  • Assist in the preparation of both food and beverages/coffees. 

Please note, our cafe is located within the Coffs Harbour Health Campus. The standard hours are Monday - Friday 8:15-4:15pm, with an occasional 5:45am start. 

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for this role will have a passion for coffee and is friendly & approachable. You will display the following qualities:

  • 1 year of experience as a team leader or supervisor in a hospitality environment preferred. 
  • Excellent communication and a team player. 
  • Prior barista training and skills are preferred. 
  • Must be capable of multitasking in a fast paced environment. 
  • Knowledge around food handling and safety (Food Safety Certificate is ideal but not essential)
  • Great customer service skills and passion for coffee!
  • Full-time availability 5 days a week as per the above mentioned standard hours.
