About the Role
As a Senior Store Manager at WHSmith, you will be responsible for:
- Leading a 'Customer first' culture, ensuring that our Service Guarantee is role-modelled and consistently implemented.
- Identifying recruitment and training & development needs of your team.
- Rostering in a safe, legal, and compliant way to maximise business opportunities and demands.
- Building relationships with key stakeholders.
- Execution of marketing initiatives/promotional cycles.
- Stock replenishment and merchandising in line with planograms.
- Providing feedback to Area and Operations Manager on performance or opportunities.
Please note, the leadership team operates on a rotating roster, and the successful candidate will be required to commit to this flexible schedule as part of their role.
About You
The ideal candidate will be a modest leader with strong initiative. With excellent interpersonal skills and robust retail management experience, this candidate will provide support and guidance across the terminal.
You will also carry the following criteria:
- 5 year's management experience in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Leadership and mentoring abilities.
- Experience managing the stock lifecycle.
- Knowledge of rostering compliance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to achieve targets and KPIs aligned with business requirements.
- An unwavering determination to succeed.
- Flexibility with work hours and the ability to work weekends/public holidays when required.
