About the Role
As our Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of customer-facing retail operations across Perth Airport. Working closely with the Area Manager, you will lead and guide Store Managers and Team Leaders to maintain exceptional retail and operational standards. Your responsibilities will include:
- Maximising product availability through effective stock management processes and maintaining stock file integrity to minimise losses.
- Consistently fulfilling the "duty manager" role across the estate.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders locally and within the Support Office.
- Recruiting, developing, motivating, and leading capable teams to ensure the consistent delivery of operational processes.
- Planning and allocating resources to meet operational demands within cost tolerances.
- Working closely with the Area Manager to ensure the appropriate team-to-task alignment and service within each terminal.
- Providing feedback for operational improvements and address non-compliance issues, striving for favourable outcomes.
- Leading the team in delivering exceptional customer service and upskill team members working in specialist areas (including, Tech, Books and News).
- Leading compliance with all Food Safety, Health and Safety, and Wellbeing processes, training the team accordingly.
- Conducting performance management conversations when required and seek opportunities for team and operational improvements.
- Performing adhoc operational or administrative duties as reasonably requested.
About You
Ideally, you will have:
- At least 2 years’ experience in a fast-paced retail warehouse or store environment
- Experience with stock control and allocations
- Experience with back of house operations
- Proactive leadership and mentorship skills
- The desire to build a career in Retail Management.
- Knowledge of fast-paced retail operations with a focus on quality service.
- Experience managing stock and labor costs.
- Effective staff management and training skills.
- The ability to achieve targets and KPIs.
- Flexibility with work hours and willingness to work weekends/public holidays when needed.
- A hands-on management style, ensuring high standards of customer service are maintained and company policies and procedures are followed.
