Your new role
We are currently seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Registered Nurse (RN1) to join our residential team at our Port Melbourne Residential Aged Care facility on a Part Time basis. Reporting directly to the Care Manager and Site Manager and Indirectly to the Clinical Services Manager (for clinical supervision), you will be evaluating care of Wintringham residents. This dynamic role will comprise of 3 weekly shifts from Monday to Friday.
Your responsibilities and duties will include:
- Provide high-quality care through direct assessment and development of support plans aligned with residents’ needs and lifestyle choices.
- Develop and maintain an excellent understanding of each resident’s care requirements through hands-on care and collaboration with staff.
- Create, implement, and review care plans in consultation with residents and their next of kin.
- Assess and document changes in residents’ health, medication, or lifestyle promptly, and communicate updates to staff and relevant stakeholders.
- Identify and respond to changes in behaviour or physical condition, reporting to the Care Manager and developing strategies for support.
- Ensure care plans reflect resident choice, best practice, practicality, and risk.
- Work collaboratively with residents and staff to continuously review and improve care delivery.

We are looking for candidates with the following:
- Registered Nurse Division 1
- Current AHRPA Registration (mandatory)
- Experience in gerontology / community / palliative / mental health / alcohol and drugs or related specialty
- Knowledge and skills to perform personal care and clinical tasks
- Ability to work both in team and autonomously
- Keen eye for detail
- Prior experience in homelessness, aged care, welfare, disability, allied health or community care is highly desirable
- The ability to enhance or maintain our residents’ independence and lifestyle
- A friendly and non-judgmental attitude
