About the role

Wintringham’s Recreation team is seeking an experienced Recreation Officer – Residential to join our team. The role supports the Leisure & Lifestyle Coordinator (Recreation) to plan and run recreation activities that meet each resident’s interests and needs. Reporting to the Recreation Coordinator - Residential responsibilities include:

• Support onsite and offsite recreation activities for residents, including group activities, 1:1 support and driving the bus when required.
• Identify and support each resident’s recreation interests, independence, community connections and access to local activities.
• Encourage involvement from residents’ families, friends and broader support networks.
• Work with staff to plan, develop and improve recreation programs, including maintaining records as directed.
• Follow Wintringham’s Code of Conduct, policies, procedures, quality systems, legislative requirements and relevant industry standards.

What are we looking for?

• Recreation, Community Development, Psychology, Disability, or Social Work qualification or equivalent (Cert IV or higher). A current motor vehicle driving licence and First Aid Certificate 2.
• Ability to build positive, respectful relationships with residents from diverse backgrounds.
• A caring, flexible, creative and non-judgemental approach to the role.
• Capacity to work well in a team and encourage older people to stay engaged and motivated.
• Knowledge of local services and community resources.

What we offer

• Employment type: Fixed term temporary, part-time role. Starting in late October 2026 and ending 12 December 2027. Working every second Friday 0730-1530, 7.5 hours/fortnight.
• Pay: $36.76 to $48.99 per hour plus super (depending on your qualifications & experience). Above Award pay and not-for-profit salary packaging benefits of up to $18,500 each year.
• Location: Flemington.
