Wintringham is a specialised non-religious not-for-profit welfare organisation. We are committed to providing older people who are at risk or have experienced homelessness with a range of high-quality care, housing and services. We employ more than 1,000 staff across Victoria and Tasmania
Our Williamstown Hostel located close to Melbourne’s CBD offers affordable, high quality accommodation to men and women aged 50 years and over. We provide a safe, flexible and caring family-style environment, which allows residents to maintain their chosen lifestyles, habits and activities and to be as independent as they choose to be.
Your new role
Wintringham is currently seeking an experienced and proactive individual to join our tight-knit and friendly Domestic Services team at Williamstown Hostel on a Part time basis. As a Domestic Services Assistant, you will be working across our cleaning and laundry teams. Be part of a supportive and collaborative environment, where your dedication to excellence is recognised and valued.
Your roster is as below:
Week 1: Thursday & Friday (0700 – 1430)
Week 2: Thursday, Saturday & Sunday (0700 – 1430)
Your responsibilities and duties will include:
- To clean resident rooms, common areas, office spaces, cleaners and staff room as scheduled
- To replenish & maintain stock levels
- Cleaning & Laundry duties as per schedule
- To ensure provision of clean laundry throughout the home at all times
- Assist the Food Services team with delivery and serving of food and drinks as scheduled
We are looking for candidates with the following:
- Previous experience in a cleaning/laundry role – preferably in Aged Care/Health Care
- Excellent time management and organisation skills
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- A non-judgmental approach to working with people
- Qualifications and experience in food handling, infection control, manual handling and the use of cleaning chemicals (highly advantageous)
- Food Safety Certificate and Food Handlers Certificate (highly advantageous)
- Physically able to perform manual tasks including (but not limited to) bending & lifting
