Our Williamstown Hostel located close to Melbourne’s CBD offers affordable, high-quality accommodation to people aged 50 years and over. We provide a safe, flexible and caring family-style environment, which allows residents to maintain their chosen lifestyles, habits and activities and to be as independent as they choose to be.

 

Your new role

We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Domestic Services Attendant to join our residential team at our Williamstown Hostel on a Part Time basis as a Laundry Attendant.  Be part of a supportive and collaborative environment, where your dedication to excellence is recognised and valued.

Your Part Time fortnightly roster will be as below:

Week 1: Tuesday & Friday (1430 – 2130)

Week 2:  Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday (1430 – 2130)

 

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • To clean resident rooms, common areas, office spaces, cleaners and staff room as scheduled
  • To replenish & maintain stock levels 
  • Cleaning & Laundry duties as per schedule
  • To ensure provision of clean laundry throughout the home at all times
  • Assist the Food Services team with delivery and serving of food and drinks as scheduled

 

We are looking for candidates with the following:

  • Previous experience in a cleaning/laundry role – preferably in Aged Care/Health Care
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • A non-judgmental approach to working with people
  • Qualifications and experience in food handling, infection control, manual handling and the use of cleaning chemicals (highly advantageous)
  • Food Safety Certificate and Food Handlers Certificate (highly advantageous)
  • Physically able to perform manual tasks including (but not limited to) bending & lifting
