Our Williamstown Hostel located close to Melbourne’s CBD offers affordable, high-quality accommodation to people aged 50 years and over. We provide a safe, flexible and caring family-style environment, which allows residents to maintain their chosen lifestyles, habits and activities and to be as independent as they choose to be.
Your new role
Wintringham is currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Food Services Attendant to join our Food Services Team on a permanent Part Time basis. This role will undertake a range of general kitchen duties such as meal distribution to our other residential homes, food preparation, plating and service of food, ensuring that meals are nutritious and well presented.
Your fortnightly roster will be as below:
Week 1: Thursday (0600 – 1400) and Friday (0600 – 1400)
Week 2: Monday (0600 – 1400) and Sunday (1130 – 1930)
Your responsibilities and duties will include:
• Comply with the requirements of the food safety program
• Assist with the preparation of all meals, drinks and snacks
• Serve and clean up after meals
• Assist with the cleaning schedule to maintain a safe and clean environment.
• Ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times
• Participate in meetings and in-services as required
• Duties as directed by the Hotel Services Manager / Residential Site Manager from time to time
We are looking for candidates with the following:
• Previous experience in a kitchen role – preferably in Aged Care/Health Care
• Excellent time management and organisation skills
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
• A non-judgmental approach to working with people
• Qualifications and experience in food handling, infection control, manual handling and the use of cleaning chemicals (highly advantageous)
• Food Safety Certificate and Food Handlers Certificate (highly advantageous)
• Physically able to perform manual tasks including (but not limited to) bending & lifting
