About the Opportunity

Due to an exciting period of growth and expansion, Chill now has a rewarding opportunity for an organised and driven Transport & Logistics Manager to join their team at Chill HQ, Brookvale NSW, on a full-time basis.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, this is a newly created role where you will primarily be responsible for leading, empowering and developing the Transport and Warehouse business unit and managing the execution, direction and coordination of all transportation matters within the organisation.

We believe that life is too precious to fit square pegs in round holes - this is a hands-on leadership and management role that requires a hands-on attitude. If you're not prepared to lead and problem-solve from the front, you're probably not the best fit for this role.

Your day to day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Providing creative, flexible, tenacious, diplomatic and consistent leadership to develop the Transport Team;
  • Taking ownership of the day to day activity of the transport operations, ensuring that the transport system, processes and people are fully operational;
  • Recruiting and maintaining top drivers and driver teams, including training & scheduling;
  • Improving logistics delivery through identifying risks, issues and opportunities and deploying innovative solutions and techniques in response; and
  • Taking the lead in resolving unforeseen problems as they arise, ensuring appropriate resolution and learning to plan ahead for similar future scenarios.

For the full position description, please click here.

While you'll primarily be working between office hours of 08:00 am to 17:00 pm, this is the transport industry - from time to time we might need all hands on deck, including jumping into the trenches to help out where needed.

About You

To be considered for this role, you'll need significant and demonstrated experience in Transportation and Logistics, ideally within FMCG, small-scale consumer inbound/outbound or refrigeration logistics.

It almost goes without saying that you'll need to be a highly organised and level-headed professional with the ability to effectively lead and inspire your team. You'll be adept at managing multiple competing demands, with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving, contingency planning and future proofing.

Your experience across all HR functions will be crucial to your success in recruiting, inducting, training, motivating, retaining and performance-managing large numbers of driving staff while your flexible, analytical and adaptable mindset will see you effectively matching resources to prioritised needs while planning for the unplanned and expecting the unexpected.

Please note: Before commencing, you must hold a current, unrestricted Australian C Class Driver's Licence, with Manual classification preferred. Applicants without the unrestricted legal right to live and work in Australia will not be considered.

About the Benefits

This is an incredible opportunity to join a unique and dynamic logistics company offering a niche service to a niche demographic in a supportive workplace where no two days are ever the same.

In return for your hard work and dedication, you will be rewarded with a highly attractive salary circa $90,000 - $110,000 (commensurate with your skills and experience) plus super!

You'll enjoy great 'tools of the trade' benefits including a mobile phone and a laptop if required, alongside world-class training and programs to help you develop personally and professionally.

Chill is also dedicated to providing ongoing career progression opportunities such as conferences and further upskilling for the right people.
