What you need to succeed

To be considered for this position you will hold a recognised teaching qualification (ideally with post-graduate qualifications in curriculum and/or educational leadership), and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia.

Whilst previous experience working as a Principal will be highly regarded, Strelley Community School is also open to speaking with candidates who are currently working as a Deputy Principal or Senior Teacher, looking to make the next step up in their career.

As a small school with a number of internal and external stakeholders, a collaborative leadership approach will be critical to your success in this role. You will be open-minded in learning and respecting the cultural ways of the local Indigenous people and will integrate cultural connection to the land and 2-way learning into curriculum development.

Importantly, Strelley Community School is looking for a Principal with a passion for Indigenous education and a genuine desire to live and work in the region. You will be visible in the community, flexible in your approach and open-minded to new and creative teaching styles that will enable students to meet their learning obligations.

Please Note: Both the school and provided housing are smoke-free. Both communities are 'dry' for school staff.
