Kimberley Pharmacy Services have been proudly serving the Kimberley region across Broome, Derby and Fitzroy Valley, for several years.

With a strong community focus and commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander primary health care, Kimberley Pharmacy Services provides medication and pharmacy services to individuals and families, as well as local hospitals and Aboriginal Medical Services across the Kimberley Region.

A Comprehensive Graduate Experience

Offering a structured 2 Year Residency Program, Kimberley Pharmacy Services has an opportunity for a recently graduated Pharmacist to join their supportive and experienced team, on a full-time ongoing basis. This role is initially based in Broome, for the first 6 months of the program, but will be part of a rotational graduate experience across a number of pharmacies (community, clinical and outreach Aboriginal Health Services) throughout the Kimberley.

Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager and Director of Remote Services, you'll be responsible for assisting in the running of Kimberley Pharmacy Services community, clinical and outreach services with a focus of patient education, access to medicines, clinical reviews and culturally appropriate medication management services, across a number of locations in the Kimberley and North Queensland.

To be considered for this position, you must be a qualified Pharmacist currently registered, or in the process of registering with, AHPRA. Whilst prior remote pharmacy experience isn't necessary, you will need to be comfortable with your clinical knowledge.

Working across a highly varied collection of pharmacy roles, you must be flexible and adaptable, with an ability to build relationships with coworkers and local community members, in this patient focused and collaborative role.

Moreover, you will need to demonstrate a commitment to patient education and be willing to actively engage with patients/customers in order to deliver it. You will also demonstrate a respect for, and commitment to, Aboriginal Health.

Please Note: To be considered for this position, you must have at minimum, a Provisional Australian Drivers Licence.

The Allied Health Rural Generalist Pathway

Kimberley Pharmacy Services is excited to help the successful candidate toward becoming a rural generalist, by supporting them to commence the allied health rural generalist pathway.

The Allied Health Rural Generalist Pathway: as part of this position you will be able to participate in the AHRG pathway. You will be funded to complete the Level 2 (Graduate Diploma) education with James Cook University.

This is a work-integrated learning program – you will be provided with time at work for study and dedicated structured supervision and support. Finally, you will have the opportunity to participate in service development projects led by senior team members.
