About the Opportunity
In the midst of an exciting period of growth and expansion, Chill is currently looking for a driven and hands-on Senior Transport Planner to join their team in Brookvale, NSW on a full-time basis.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you’ll be responsible for all aspects of freight scheduling and tracking, ensuring tendered loads are scheduled, picked up and delivered on time in accordance with customer arrival windows and overseeing the Transport Coordinator.
Your day to day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Establishing and cultivating relationships with Chill’s current portfolio of clients, building trust and respect by consistently meeting and exceeding expectations;
- Taking ownership of the planning and operations of 10 to 15 trucks and 250-500 deliveries per day, data entry, processing invoices and inputting orders into the Chill system;
- Developing and monitoring key performance indicators, addressing any problems or delays and ensuring customers are kept informed with effective, timely and friendly customer service;
- Identifying ways to improve transport operational processes, promoting teamwork & cooperation;
- Liaise with the Warehouse Manager in coordinating movement of freight and direct the sales team in building runs and subcontractor management.
About You
Chill is looking for an organised decision maker with a strategic mindset, who keeps cool under pressure when dealing with a number of conflicting priorities and moving parts - if you enjoy playing games of strategy, you’ll do well in this position.
You have an analytical mind, strong attention to detail, ability to prioritise tasks and thrive on problem-solving and strategic thinking.
A background in temperature controlled cold storage is crucial, with good working knowledge of the Sydney road network. Management experience would be a bonus, however Chill is keen to hear from someone looking for the next step up from a supervisor or similar role.
You will need a solid level of computer literacy, be able to use and learn a range of software (e.g Xero, Carton Cloud), with intermediate skills in excel and any logistic management systems an advantage.
This challenging and exciting role where no two days are the same would suit a candidate with long term vision, and the ability to take a bird eye view of the tasks at hand and piece the puzzle together.
