About the Wheatbelt GP Network

The Wheatbelt GP Network is a NFP regional leader in primary health care delivery across the Wheatbelt region of WA. The Network is a progressive service provider that works with health professionals, hospitals, three levels of government, local agencies and community members to deliver integrated, evidence-based, multidisciplinary primary health care. 

The Network supplies GP, nursing, physiotherapy, dietetics, diabetic education, Aboriginal health, counselling, psychology, ultrasound, pathology collection and support services. Services are delivered from 5 sites, as well as through outreach services. The Wheatbelt Health Centre (WHC) is a modern facility built in partnership with the Commonwealth under the super clinic's program and is the flagship facility for the Network. Whilst there may be work across a range of locations the majority of the work will focus on areas that are hard to reach and maybe anywhere in the Wheatbelt region.

About the Opportunity

Wheatbelt GP Network now has a rewarding opportunity for a General Practitioner to join their collaborative team in Northam, WA, on a full-time basis. Hours will be primarily Monday to Friday, with an average of one Saturday worked every five weeks (TOIL accrued).

This position has arisen as the current clinic GP is retiring and is looking for someone to take over their established client base of 30+ years. 

Working within this patient outcome and community focussed super clinic, you'll be responsible for providing friendly, thorough and respectful consultation to patients in the community. You'll do this through an integrated multidisciplinary care approach focusing on:

  • Chronic disease management;
  • Aboriginal health;
  • Mental health; and
  • Aged care.

Working alongside a range of mental health and allied health workers, you will be joining a well-supported clinic, including experienced nurses, visiting specialists and a large reception team providing excellent administration support. You'll also enjoy a modern environment with access to pharmacy, pathology and a large minor surgery treatment room onsite.

The ideal candidate will be a vocationally registered General Practitioner, legally able to practice in Australia. You'll also hold FACRRM or FRACGP qualifications.
