Child Care Assistant (Trainee) - Floater
Forming part of the Gwydir Daycare and Preschool Team, within the Corporate Services Department you will assist in providing high quality care for families of the Moree Plains Shire.
The successful person will be trained to assist in the care and provision of high quality education for the children in the Centre, in a secure and active environment. The successful applicant will also learn to contribute and provide necessary support to the operations of the Centre.
To be successful in this position, you must enjoy working with children and ideally be striving to achieve the long term goal of a career in early childhood teaching. The successful applicant must also be 18 years of age or older, and have completed minimum education level of Year 10 or equivalent, hold a current First Aid Certificate, have a current Working with Children Check number and be willing to complete up to a thirty-six (36) month traineeship in Certificate III or Diploma in Children’s Services.
Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award 2017, Band 1, Level 1, Trainee 4, $462.69 per 25 hour week, which includes one (1) hour study time each week. (Depending on what level of qualification the applicant undertakes, the traineeship term for a Certificate III will be for two (2) years and Diploma is for three (3) years, this will be negotiated with the preferred candidate prior to commencement).
It is an offence under the NSW Child Protection (Prohibited Employment) Act 1998 for a person convicted of a serious sex offence to apply for this position.
