Parish and Position Information
St Gabriel’s Anglican Parish in Carindale has been served by Father John Searle for over four years and continues to be a well-supported parish. Welcoming to people of all ages, the Parish requires the assistance of a Young Families Ministry Leader to join us on a permanent, part time basis of 5 hours per week. Hourly rate of $21/per hour.
The role’s overall purpose is to provide leadership of Young Families Ministry to enable the Parish to achieve parish goals. This ministry leader will oversee the coordination, preparation and support of the Young Families Program and work with the voluntary helpers.
Personal and Professional Requirements
You will work alongside the Rector to develop the Young Families Ministry. Working with various volunteers you will prepare lessons and presentations for children and young families that foster the Christian faith and demonstrate qualities of a faithful Christian life.
You will be required to present on Sundays and other dedicated days where Young Families services are held.
Our successful applicant will be a faithful and prayerful disciple of Christ, with the ability to mentor and lead children by upholding the Anglican Church ethos. Along with a high level of organisational skills and the ability to work autonomously, you will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. As this role will include working in consultation with the Parish Rector, members of the Youth, Children & Families Ministry Group, and linking with local Chaplains and other Anglican parishes, you will be adept at developing and maintaining key relationships.
You must hold a Working with Children Blue Card and successfully achieve an Anglican Church Safe Ministry check. Qualifications in Youth Work, Counselling or related field are desirable. You must also be a confirmed communicant member of the Anglican Church of Australia, or be willing to be received into the Anglican Church.
