About the Opportunity

In the midst of an exciting period of growth and expansion, Chill is currently looking for a driven and flexible Warehouse Manager to join their team in Dandenong, VIC on a full-time basis. Shift times are flexible, with the warehouse operating from 4am to 11pm, and you'll have the chance to figure out what schedule works best for you.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll be in charge of a large, high-volume cold storage warehouse, leading by example to ensure all supplies, stock and materials are stored safely and effectively distributed, on time and without damage. A key part of your role will be leading the transition to a significantly larger facility, which is due to happen in 2021.

Your day to day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Leading, training and recruiting a creative, high-performing team, supporting and mentoring staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to Get Things Done;
  • Taking ownership of the day to day warehouse operations, managing productivity and organising inbound/outbound freight, whilst accounting for temperature and food safety requirements;
  • Developing and monitoring key performance indicators, addressing any problems or delays and ensuring customers are kept informed with effective, timely and friendly customer service;
  • Providing strong leadership, developing and mentoring warehouse inbound/outbound team to improve business performance;
  • Driving change and improvement into warehouse function by implementing operational improvements and service level targets;
  • Identifying any risks, issues or areas of improvement, working with your team to develop innovative solutions and more efficient processes; and
  • Providing hands-on support in all areas of the warehouse, stepping in to help with manual work wherever needed.

About You

Chill is looking for a confident, hands-on leader that's not afraid to get their boots dirty on the warehouse floor - this isn't a desk job, and if you're not prepared to lead and problem-solve from the front, you're probably not the best fit for this role.

Although you'll need a strong leadership background and experience with performance management, Chill is keen to hear from someone looking for the next step up from a supervisor or similar role.

A background in temperature controlled, cold storage is crucial, with an understanding of the particular gear, clothing and logistics required for this environment.

You will need a solid level of computer literacy, able to use and learn a range of software, with skills in excel and any cloud-based warehouse management systems an advantage.

Not content to stick to established processes or the "way it's always been done", your ability to identify areas for improvement and genuine passion for innovation will help you to drive real change and support even greater outcomes for Chill's clients, towards their goal of Doing Cool Things Better.

Please note: You will need to consent to a police check and health screen prior to commencing, and be comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment that requires manual handling tasks, repetitive movements, and a decent level of physical fitness.

About the Benefits

This is an incredible opportunity to join a unique, rapidly growing Australian logistics company, working with a diverse range of products and services, where no two days are ever the same.

In return for your hard work and dedication, you will be rewarded with a highly attractive salary circa $75,000 - $85,000 (commensurate with your skills and experience) plus super!

Chill isn't an average business, and they don't employ average people - you'll be working with a team of fantastic, unique individuals and enjoy a workplace culture built on the values of Integrity, Teamwork, Fun and Magic.
