About the Opportunity 

BRAMS now has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Physiotherapist to join the multidisciplinary health care team in Broome, WA.

Reporting to the Aged Care Manager, you will be primarily responsible for providing quality physiotherapy services to consumers in Aged Care Services, including Transition Care, in order to meet their health and wellbeing needs required at home, and in the community following a hospital stay.

More specifically, some of your key duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Carrying out relevant assessments of referred consumers as required to determine physiotherapy and support needs;
  • Observing, assessing, recording and reporting on progress of consumers as appropriate;
  • Ensuring appropriate Individual and Home Visit Risk Assessments have been completed prior to commencing therapy services with consumers; and
  • Regularly following up with consumers and families to review therapy progress

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be in possession of a Tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy and current registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia and Australian Heath Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Physiotherapist.

You will need a strong understanding of the health issues impacting the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, with demonstrated experience working in an Aboriginal health setting being highly advantageous. You will also require demonstrated physiotherapy experience across a wide range of areas.

You will be a naturally collaborative team player, with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, you'll be able to adapt your communication style to work effectively with people from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds. You will also be computer literate, allowing you to work in Microsoft Office or other required electronic databases.

Finally, you will be a caring and compassionate individual who is self-motivated and passionate about their field of work. 

Please note: Prior to commencement you will need to undergo a National Police Clearance and obtain a current Working With Children Check (WWCC). A current Driver's License and the ability to drive to communities as required is also essential for this role. You must also be vaccinated against COVID-19.
