About the Opportunity

The Lutheran Church of Australia now has an exciting opportunity for a Local Mission Administration Officer on a full-time 3 year contract (extension likely) commencing January 2022 to join their team in North Adelaide, SA. You will be working under an arrangement of 0.8FTE for Local Mission and 0.2FTE for Communications. There may be the potential for Hybrid working arrangements after 3 months of employment.

Reporting to the Executive Officer - Local Mission, you will be responsible for providing a high level of administrative assistance across the Local Mission departments.

More specifically, your key duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Responding to correspondence and enquiries, including the preparation and distribution of electronic communication as required;
  • Liaising and coordinating with other LCANZ departments and agencies;
  • Managing record-keeping and maintenance of databases;
  • Organising travel, meetings, training events and other activities as required; and
  • Providing secretarial support to the Council for Local Mission and its advisory committees including taking minutes at meetings

About You

The LCA is seeking a personable individual with demonstrated experience in an office administration role.

You will need to be comfortable working as part of a religious organisation and able to work within the LCA environment.

It is essential that you have strong planning and organisational skills, a high level of attention to detail and outstanding written and verbal communication skills allowing you to form effective relationships. You will also have the demonstrated ability to show initiative and work autonomously. 

Candidates who possess administration experience in a Not-For-Profit environment will be highly regarded.

You will also need to be computer literate and confident using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
