Your Next Opportunity

This role oversees all aspects of sugar production, from budget development and technical leadership through to quality control. As such, you will be accountable for providing leadership and support to a highly skilled team of Supervisors, Operators and Laboratory personnel whilst managing all aspects of the production of our core products - sugar and molasses. 

Additionally, Mackay Sugar employees enjoy a seasonal crushing schedule, which allows our team to enjoy varied roles where duties and responsibilities fluctuate throughout the year.

What You'll Bring to the Team

To be considered for this role, you will ideally hold relevant Engineering, Processing or Science qualifications or draw on your experience in either sugar or chemical manufacturing industries to ensure operational efficiency, and have a thorough understanding of quality control as it relates to manufacturing.

Your demonstrated leadership experience and ongoing commitment to safety will empower your team to produce consistently high-quality products in an efficient and safe manner. 

Other requirements include:

• Risk management experience including environmental management systems and processes
• Effective people management skills
• Technical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication skills
