About the Opportunity

 Due to constant growth, Latrobe Regional Health is seeking full-time and part-time Consultant Psychiatrists based in Gippsland, Victoria. With 300 beds, the LRH main hospital is in Traralgon, VIC & our community-based clinics are based out of various locations in the Gippsland region including:

  • Bairnsdale
  • Sale
  • Wonthaggi
  • Warragul
  • Traralgon

As a Psychiatrist at LRH, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care. You will have the opportunity to work in various settings, including inpatient psychiatry at LRH and our community-based clinics.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Providing leadership in clinical care, teaching, and research within psychiatric services
  • Engaging in comprehensive treatment planning and delivery for a diverse patient population
  • Supporting the continuous improvement of mental health services in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
  • Participating in the redesign and expansion of mental health facilities and services
  • Advocating for mental health awareness, treatment accessibility, and best practices in psychiatric care

About You

You will have a Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) Fellowship or equivalent, and Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration is crucial. Additionally, proven psychiatry experience, showing your skilful and compassionate handling of complex mental health conditions, is essential.

Furthermore, while not mandatory, we hold in high regard additional qualifications that signal your dedication to advancing psychiatric practice:

  • Commitment to continuous education and training
  • Engagement in research and development within the psychiatric field
