About the Role:

Barcaldine Regional Council is seeking a Works Supervisor (Construction) within the Alpha region.

Within this role you will be responsible for supervising a town team to maintain, clean and improve Council and Community facilities, for conducting routine inspections and maintenance of reticulated water and waste infrastructure, and for providing oversight in the preparation and monitoring of town services budgets.

 

Location: This position is based in Alpha with Regional Work and Travel as required.

Classification Level: Level 5.1 of the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream A) Award - State 2017 and Barcaldine Regional Council Certified Agreement 2022.

Wage: $75,550.28 per annum + Superannuation (up to 12%) and relevant approved allowances.

Payment of Wages: Council employees are paid fortnightly.

Hours of work: 76 hours over 9 days with a rostered day off every fortnight.

Leave: Five (5) weeks annual leave per annum + 17.5% loading. Fifteen (15) days Personal Leave (sick leave) per annum.

What You'll Need:

 

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in civil construction and/or maintenance;
  • Current General Construction Induction (white/blue) Card;
  • Minimum Queensland class "MR" Driver Licence;
  • Experience and Certificate(s) of Competency (or licences) in the operation of various road construction plant;
  • Certificate III in Civil Construction or equivalent is desirable;
  • Queensland Traffic Controller Certification or ability to gain;
  • Traffic Management Implementation Qualification or ability to gain.
