We are recruiting a Registered Mine Surveyor for the Carmichael Mine, which is a 10mtpa coal mine located north-west of Clermont in central Queensland.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Registered Surveyor will be responsible for providing accurate and timely survey support to the Bravus Technical Services Superintendent, whilst ensuring statutory survey obligations are being met. This position is critical, to meeting Statutory obligations as outline in the relevant Act and Regulations, which must be accurately represented on the mine plans.
Responsibilities of the role include:
On lease – Mine Operations
• Oversee EOM survey reconciliation of contract survey work and validation including:
o The development of Survey Standards, and systems for site.
o Develop coal loss and dilution reconciliation management system, from pit to Product stockpile at the Train load out,
o Work closely with the Resource geologist, to develop the geological model and reconciliation of geological model
• Confirm accuracy of work completed by site survey team when Stat Surveyor is offsite.
o Including review of set outs, topographic surveys/scanning, data reduction, accurate volume calculation and reporting.
o Review of monthly survey activities including aerial flyovers, volume calculations of Topsoil/Overburden/Interburden/Partings/ROM Coal/Product Coal/Rejects and validation
• The Stat role will endorse the accuracy, precision and completeness of survey data in accordance with relevant QLD Mining and Surveying Legislation, Recognised Standard 10 and company standards.
• Establishing survey controls and reporting and ensuring that statutory reporting requirements are met.
• Submission of annual Statutory Survey plans to DNRME.
• Maintenance of operational boundaries e.g. mining lease / exploration lease and monitoring of tailings and water levels on site
• Managing the Statutory Surveys database, Bravus survey base station and permanent survey marker (PSM) network
• Focusing on health and safety, environmental considerations whilst engaging people as well as have commercial awareness and delivery of results.
• Any additional task as may be directed from time to time by Management.
• The position will be based on site, working a 5/2 roster.

Other qualifications and attributes required include:
• Tertiary qualifications in surveying or equivalent
• Registered Surveyor (with the Surveyors Board of Queensland) and holds an appropriate Mining Endorsement.
• 5 years’ experience in mining (coal or metalliferous)
• Experience in the use of Drones for Aerial Imagery Capture
• Proficient in the use of all GPS surveying instruments and site software’s
• Be curious for continuous improvement, carry out design and calculations and offers alternate solutions and concepts.
• Sound knowledge and understanding of QLD Coal Mining Legislation, OH&S and Duty of Care
• Proactive and self-motivated attitude
• A strong commitment to contribute to the site safety culture.
• Current Drivers Licence
