ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an (Maintenance) Electrical Supervisor to join our team on a 7/7 roster at Rugby Run Solar Farm, situated near Moranbah in Central Queensland.

As Bravus’ flagship solar investment and Queensland’s top-performing solar facility, Rugby Run offers a role that combines hands-on maintenance with supervisory responsibilities. This position is essential for the efficient operation and maintenance of the solar farm, involving both fieldwork and oversight. The (Maintenance) Electrical Supervisor will divide their time between a control room, where they will monitor and manage system and equipment performance, and on-site activities.

This role is best suitable for:

  • A Moranbah local or someone willing to move to Moranbah eager to make an impact
  • An electrician who loves fine-tuning equipment and prefers strategic work over constant manual tasks.

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, and stakeholder interactions for RRSF, including managing site security and access.
  • Supervise site activities, including planning, scheduling, logistics, and compliance reporting.
  • Maintain electrical and substation installations, oversee contractor maintenance tasks, and provide technical support.
  • Monitor work schedules, manage tradespersons/technicians, and ensure contractor adherence to contract terms.
  • Handle maintenance projects, order spares/materials, and uphold SOPs and isolation procedures for HV/LV equipment.
  • Coordinate site activities, lead meetings, and foster positive relationships with contractors and stakeholders.
  • Represent the Principal on-site under the Workplace Health and Safety Act.

Requirements of the role:

The ideal candidate will align with our values of courage, trust, and commitment, and will show a dedication to high standards and adaptability to meet project deadlines.

  • Minimum of 5 years in a similar role, preferably in the solar industry.
  • Proficient in solar PV system installation, including inverters, wiring, grounding, and performance monitoring. Experience with semiconductor technology is a plus.
  • Familiar with international standards for solar PV systems and relevant Australian standards.
  • Deep understanding of environmental health and safety legislation and standards for solar farm construction.
  • Expertise in developing operating procedures, work plans, and schedules, with strong risk identification and management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to build relationships and engage with a diverse range of people.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a high-performing team, actively participating in meetings and driving continuous improvement.
  • Skilled in solving complex technical issues with innovative solutions and stakeholder involvement.
  • Strong safety focus with a proactive attitude both on and off the job.
  • Must hold a “C” class driver’s license.

Desired: 

  • Central inverter experience. 
  • SCADA experience. 
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Transmission and Distribution High Voltage Operational procedures inclusive of OH&S requirements.  
  • Extensive experience in the operation of a variety of High Voltage isolating devices up to 132kv.
